Many children love to use their computers not just for games but for learning and creating too. Although there are many holiday and after school clubs dedicated to sports, there are very few that focus on computing and the skills required to make programs and become computer literate – something extremely important in this modern world. That’s where Computer Xplorers comes in; the after school and holiday clubs that Computer Xplorers offer make learning about computing fun and memorable.
Many thousands of children enjoy the Computer Xplorers after school clubs each week in a variety of schools up and down the country. The aim of these sessions is to ensure that the children have fun – so much so that they barely realise they are learning, even though they most definitely are. The classes consist of programming combined with storytelling, forensic science, animation, web design, video games and problem solving amongst many other skills.
Computer Xplorers also runs workshops and theme days. These one of events can be either full or half days depending on the age of the children or the event that the workshop is part of. The workshops can be tailored to work around the curriculum (and in particular the STEM subjects) and workshop tutors and teachers will discuss the options before the day itself so that everyone is able to take something useful and important away with them.
