Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has recognised Bath franchisees Roger and Margaret Hookway with the Heidi Sulley commemorative cup – a special award for tenacity and team spirit, at its recent national conference held at the Hilton, Watford.
“Margaret and Roger’s help, cooperation and determination to go the extra mile have made them stand out from the crowd this year,” confirms Card Connection business development manager, Darren Bull. “A key achievement was the transfer of one of the first Budgens’ sites to Card Connection’s range of greeting cards which went so smoothly that the manager now uses them as an example of excellent customer service to other suppliers.”
In addition to managing their own territory so successfully, “Margaret and Roger are also real team players,” continues Bull. “They are always willing to share ideas at regional meetings and always find the time to motivate and mentor fellow franchisees, especially new recruits.”
Other franchisees whose achievements were recognised include Peter and Christine Gainard who won the best newcomers award for increasing the turnover of their Weston-Super-Mare franchise by 32% in the space of just one year, since joining Card Connection.
In addition, Martin Rolfe, Norwich franchise, won the best runner-up prize missing out on the top spot to West of Ireland franchisee Joe Sweeney who took the best franchisee award for the fourth year running, while Latif Twigeri from the Guildford/Farnham territory won the best improver.
“A Card Connection greeting card is now being sold every two seconds in the UK and Ireland,” confirms Bull: “This success is a testament to all the hard work and dedication that our franchisees put in and we are delighted to be able to recognise their achievements in this way. In-turn, their work allows us to cement our position as the UK’s leading greeting card franchisor and one of the top card publishers in the country. We couldn’t do it without them,” he concludes.
