Avotus Corporation, the leading provider of communications expense management (TEM) and e-Procurement solutions with headquarters in Toronto, Ontario and sales and marketing offices in Burlington, Massachusetts and Andover, today announced a software contract with Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ) to help that company manage its newly implemented Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network.

ALJ is a major conglomerate based in Saudi Arabia that sells and services Toyota and Lexus vehicles, as well as other major international consumer electronics and appliance brands. ALJ also has a financing arm, hotels and other business interests. It has operations in Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Syria and Turkey. ALJ also owns and operates Hartwell plc, one of the UK’s leading multi-franchise retail motor groups, which consists of 36 sales and after sales Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Peugeot and Vauxhall dealerships across England.

ALJ is migrating from a traditional Private Branch Exchange (PBX) telephone system to VoIP running on Cisco Call Manager (CCM) switches. Avotus, a Cisco Technology Developer Partner, is providing Intelligent Communications Management (ICM) Usage Management (next generation Call Accounting) in support of 1,500 Saudi-based employees served by two CCM servers.

Hesham Saad Al Ghamdi, ALJ senior project manager, said, “ALJ was seeking a solution that could strategically assist in the IP communication technology direction. After evaluating several solutions and gathering features, Avotus was proven to have all dimensions.”

Avotus ICM Usage Management software collects and reports usage data from the Cisco systems. Using the data, ALJ can evaluate call data to allocate costs to business units, audit usage patterns, and identify personal calls.

“ALJ is now able to view our complete call logs and audit accordingly. Growth strategy can be planned smoothly with the analysis of the incoming/outgoing call gateways. Business and personal calls can be easily accounted and segregated. From an enterprise point of view, the total cost of IP communication can be broken down from the top-most organization to the exact employee transactions,” explained Hesham Saad Al Ghamdi.

“This important contract with ALJ demonstrates Avotus’ ability to manage international and mixed telephone technology installations,” commented Alan Gold, Avotus chief marketing officer. “Our systems are flexible enough to handle various telephony regulations and contract terms, as well as currencies; we can manage traditional telephony, VoIP and mobile telecommunications under a single management approach. ALJ is a perfect example of our international capabilities and our ability to help companies plan, implement and control new communications technologies. We’re pleased to be working with ALJ.”
