Citylocal has launched a new website directory to allow businesses & their customers to find each other. Local Businesses can target local customers by placing an advert on this site. The site offers targeted advertising for businesses & a whole host of features for visitors including local news, local events, cinema listings, crosswords, horoscope, sudoku, arcade games, articles for sale, swap shop, weather & dating agency.
Set up by the same person that created Nexxus (UK) Ltd, Nazir Daud, there are 6 areas that are currently active, including Dundee, Perth & Kinross, Fife, Edinburgh & Aberdeen. The aim is to franchise out each location in the UK & the plan is to cover the whole of the country within 5 years. All territories are for sale including the Scottish Cities!
Manager Nazir Daud comments: “The number of web users has increased dramatically and it’s set to grow even further. Most search engines are great for finding information on a national scale but when you try and home in on a particular area it become increasingly more difficult. Citylocal makes it easy to find out information in your local area. Most business directories are just that & no more. Citylocal aims to provide information about tourism, entertainment, businesses, dating and the weather in each City.”
The aim of Citylocal is to have a local person manage each area. This person will be committed to their area and be in touch with local people & local business. For the first time users will be able rate the businesses. This will allow other people a chance to look at the ratings before deciding to call a local business.
Businesses will get a full listing for only £10 per month. For this they will get their full company details including logo, address, phone number, email & weblink. They will also be able to use a maximum of 500 words to describe their business.
Manger Nazir Daud comments: “Our eventual goal is to provide a video presentation to accompany each advert. Citylocal will be helpful both to residents & tourists who need in-depth information on businesses before they pick up the phone”
Citylocal is also going to a fun place to be with daily crosswords, sudoku puzzles, horoscopes, arcade games, cinema & theatre listings, local news & local events.
