If you live in one of the above postal sectors, or are close enough to cover one of them Furniture Medic are seeking professional upholsterers who are able to undertake furniture repair and renovation for national account customers e.g. Next, Laura Ashley, Harrods, Weatherspoons, British Gas, Zurich plus over 500 other companies. The work involves mainly upholstery plus some polishing using new water based products, which can be used in the home of the customer. You are also taught; marble repairs, polyester repair and UPVC repair.
National companies increasingly look for national suppliers to give, one point of contact, a standard set system, the availability of management information, central invoicing, etc., they increasingly will not use local businesses. Local businesses are unable to give national data or supply a one point of contact.
Over the last 15 years Furniture Medic has grown to be the biggest provider of Furniture restoration services in the UK and the world. We now find ourselves having to stop our selling of national accounts due to not having sufficient qualified franchisees to undertake the work.
Furniture Medic are looking for either one or two franchisees per area who are prepared to invest a substantial sum in a franchise to be able to benefit from an even more substantial amount of work generated by us. The cost of this franchise will be £15,250 for the licence and around £3,000 for the equipment needed, it is assumed that you would own most of the equipment needed. (A full equipment pack is £9,500). Of the approximate £18,250 required, Furniture Medic would ask you to pay a minimum of £6,000, the other £12,250 they would arrange a business loan for you. Charge out rates for jobs are between £40 and £45 per hour, minimum job values are one hour, some jobs run into many thousands of pounds. Most work can be completed on site. A royalty fee is paid on all work completed at 10%, less materials and sub contract work.
Ken Dennis says the cost of the franchise will include a franchise licence to trade under the name of Furniture Medic, a full equipment pack, a three week training course, this course will be tailored to fit the individuals needs, the training course and accommodation is included in the price. The franchisees as well as getting a substantial and increasing flow of national account work will benefit from the, technical, financial, commercial and support backup from the 60 strong team at the head office in Leicester.
