Popular franchise Boost Juice has tied-up a deal with Nestle UK to launch a new range of smoothies.
Boost opened its first fresh juice store in Britain under a master franchise agreement in Manchester last year. There are currently eight Boost Juice stores in Britain, and 200 worldwide.
Boost Juice, was set-up in 1998 upon the idea of Janine Allis. Chief executive Jeff Allis says Nestle approached Boost when it was looking for a way to expand into the “wellness” category.
Allis say Nestle’s consumer research showed the Boost brand and logo resonated with consumers, even though the Boost brand does not have the recognition in Britain that it has in Australia. Nestle UK are licensing the brand via payment of a royalty.
Allis says that Boost’s royalty will be subsidising the marketing costs initially, but if the product is a success, it is estimated that the Australian company will achieve earnings $1 million to $2 million a year.
The smoothies will be distributed throughout British supermarkets, cafes and convenience stores.
