Ovenu Poole franchise celebrating first anniversary

Ovenu in Poole is celebrating its 1st anniversary by expanding its service to take on a second franchise area.
Franchisee Rob Shand purchased the rights to operate the franchise for Bournemouth to compliment his current area of Poole. The franchise was purchased from existing franchisee, Chris Brown, who is retiring.
Rob, 24, from Barton, originally launched the Ovenu franchise at the end of 2006, and has since cleaned more than 800 ovens, microwaves and cooker hoods. His client base includes domestic customers as well as pubs and restaurants.
After a short career as a stores manager for an electrical wholesaler, Rob chose franchising as the best way for him to become his own boss on the advice of his father, Stan.
Stan previously managed franchises for Dairy Crest and latterly Unigate, where he developed excellent business management experience, knowledge which has supported his son’s development of his Ovenu franchise.
Rob’s growing Ovenu business is part of a UK network of more than 100 franchisees that operate in their own territories supported by a larger central business, which is based in Berkshire.
Ovenu’s valeting service takes around three hours, as key components, including the oven door, interior panels, shelves, and fan are all dismantled and cleaned with non-caustic products. The equipment is then reassembled, with the oven, hob and exterior all left in immaculate condition.
Rob said: “The people of Poole have really embraced my service and the business is continuing to grow. I am really proud to take Ovenu into Bournemouth, which has helped treble the size of the area we cover. It was always my ambition when I became an Ovenu franchisee to expand the business into a multi-van operation and, with my Dad’s help, the future looks bright.”
