Prestige Nursing launches new franchise initiative

Prestige Nursing Ltd has announced an exciting new Franchising initiative, designed to grow the number of Franchised branches across the country.

Prestige Nursing first began franchising in 1998, and recently conducted a wide-ranging review of all franchising procedures.  A number of key lessons learnt and improvements were identified, which has led to a complete overhaul of the franchise package.  Franchisees will now be able to concentrate on growing their business, not administering it.  They will also be supported by thorough planning both before and during launch.  Crucially, they will also be guided to focus on a number of key factors that others franchisees have found to be successful.   The implementation of these principles, combined with the full range of support offered by headquarters, has allowed existing Prestige Nursing franchisees to achieve an excellent return on their original investment.  More importantly, they now have viable, thriving businesses, going forward.

Prestige Nursing’s Managing Director, Jonathan Bruce, said “We originally began franchising in 1998, and had great success in attracting franchisees to work along side our established managed branch network.  The majority of the original franchisee intake is still with us, and while they continue to own and manage highly profitable businesses, they operate in a market that has changed dramatically since 1998.  We have therefore learnt a great deal about what makes a successful franchise, and with a host of new opportunities opening up within the marketplace, we felt that now was a good time to put these lessons into practice.“

The new franchise package includes the following, among many others: a detailed 6-month training and development programme; licensed use of all products & services within a defined territory; detailed territory research on eg demographics; automatic enrolment with ISO 9001:2000 and Investors in People standards; full launch package; bespoke real-time management information systems; dedicated support from HQ including a regional support manager and franchise mentor; access to Prestige Nursing’s national contracts.

Sandy Simmonds, formerly Operations Manager, has been appointed as Franchising Manager, to take forward this key project, supporting both existing and new franchisees.  She said “Franchisees bring commitment, energy and hard work to the business, but that in itself often isn’t enough. They have to be working with a company that not only has a significant presence within the market, but also has the vision and the range of services to allow it to capitalise on that presence”.

The company fully recognizes that sustainable growth happens only steadily.  Sandy Simmonds continues “We will be growing both our franchised and managed branches, so our target number of new franchisees is very modest. We know from experience that it is better to have 5 very successful franchises rather than 10 average ones, and a large part of that success comes from the on-going support we can give.”
