York-based fashion retailer Sarah Coggles is to open a Jack & Jones store franchise in the city thanks to its successful franchise forays in the past.
York-based fashion retailer Sarah Coggles is to open a Jack & Jones store franchise in the city thanks to its successful franchise forays in the past. As a former franchisor of French Connection, the Sarah Coggles outlet has been deemed to have the expertise with which to launch Jack & Jones onto the UK market.
The retailer is to launch another 12 franchised stores across the UK over four years following two already operational in Sunderland and managing director of Sarah Coggles Mark Bage declared that the company's "extensive knowledge" of franchising will be key to its success.
Mr Bage stated: "When we sold our French Connection franchise in March 2005 it was turning over about 48 million over a nine-year period."
"We retained our franchise team and took advantage of strong connections we had already forged with Bestseller over the last four years," he added.
Mr Bage highlighted the importance of the franchising business links that can be made in franchising, announcing that ties with Danish-based Bestseller, and the group who own Jack & Jones, worked in the stores' favour. The store won two awards at the prestigious Drapers awards ceremony in 2005 for best designer store and independent retailer of the year.
