Tim D. Blalock, CEO & President, announces new initiates at recent franchise convention.
Tim D. Blalock, the CEO and president of Hospitality International, announced new initiatives for its five franchised brands (Red Carpet Inn, Scottish Inns, Master Hosts Inns, Passport Inn and Downtowner Inns) during its 2006 Franchise Convention, held recently in Atlantic City, NJ.
The biggest news was Hospitality International’s commitment to the travel industry by announcing its plans to provide a centralized travel agent commission payment program, to be effective some time in 2007. Hospitality International’s Board of Directors, who met in Atlantic City just prior to the start of the Convention, gave a unanimous decision for this initiative. Board members included Bimal Avichal, Mahesh Desai, Amy Foy, Chris Guimbellot, Hanif Khimani, R. C. Patel, Kiran Shah and Andrew Shuler.
“This initiative alone will assist in our ability to compete more aggressively in the market place, especially via travel-related Internet Web sites,” stated Louise Crespin, director of marketing. “By providing a centralized travel agent commission payment program, we are telling travel agents, whether they have a brick and mortar office, or simply are affiliated with a larger travel agency website, that we want their business.”
Another initiative will ensure all of Hospitality’s Franchises were connected via hi-speed Internet for all of its reservation related activities.
Hospitality International has seen a surge in reservation activity, with increases across the board, including the number of reservations booked, average rate per reservation and overall revenue generated through reservations.
Hospitality International, Inc., located in Tucker, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, is the exclusive franchisor of Scottish Inns, Red Carpet Inn, Master Hosts Inns, Passport Inn and Downtowner Inns. Incorporated in 1982, Hospitality International currently franchises more than 300 lodging establishments, representing 15,000 rooms in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. Scottish Inns & Suites, Scottish Lodge, Red Carpet Inn & Suites, Passport Inn & Suites, and Downtowner Inns & Suites are new variations of brands added to the franchise system in the last few years.
