Cumbria Gets New Citroen Franchise

The Times and Star reports that one of Cumbria’s biggest car dealers has secured a major franchise at two of its garages. CG Ford has won a contract to sell Citroen vehicles from its dealerships in Workington and Penrith.
News of the deal was announced as the firm, one of the oldest garage groups in Cumbria, prepares to rebrand following a takeover last year. The company became part of GK Group, formerly George Kenning Limited, in October and plans to change its name to that of its new owners.
Mike Gilligan, managing director of the GK Group in Cumbria and south west Scotland, said: “We are really excited about taking on Citroen. They are one of only eight manufacturers to sell more than 100,000 cars a year in the United Kingdom and their cars, from the little C1 to the C8 and vans, complement the range of Ford vehicles very well.”
