Cool Subway Franchise For Laid Back Barbados
Posted on: 05/09/2006
Another American fast food franchise shows interest in Barbados.
The Barbados Advocate reports there's likely to be more competition in the local fast food industry, if the Barbados government gives the green light to American franchise, Subway. Goddard’s Enterprises Limited believes there's potential in the market to establish the American brand which is being marketed as a healthy fast food chain.
The local conglomerate has applied for a license from the Ministry of Finance, which has given Barbadians until September 11th, to state their objections. Goddard’s Managing Director, Martin Pritchard, who's confident about the process, says they're providing the ministry with additional information that has
been requested.
Pritchard says they were approached by Subway's restaurant which is already in Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago. Subway’s, which has over 26 thousand restaurants in 85 countries had total sales of over nine billion U.S. dollars in 2005.
