Calendar Announced For National Franchise Week

The British Franchise Association (bfa) has announced a week packed full of events for National Franchise Week 2006, which will take place between 2nd and 8th of October.
National Franchise Week will provide an ideal opportunity to explore the world of franchising as a proven and established way of starting a business. Sponsored by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the week's events will include regional franchising events, educational seminars, the Franchisee of the Year Awards and the UK's largest franchise exhibition - the National Franchise Exhibition, to be held at the NEC in Birmingham (6th-7th October).
Dan Archer, Head of Marketing at the bfa comments: "The aim of National Franchise Week is to raise awareness of franchising as a successful business model. Franchising in the UK is a £10.3 billion industry that encompasses 759 franchises systems and employs 364, 000 people - so franchising is big business.
"It is important therefore that we continue to provide as much information and support to anyone interested in going down the franchise route and acknowledge the ethical franchises operating in the UK. We also recognise the franchisees that escaped the 9 to 5 and are now running flourishing businesses through our annual awards ceremony."
