Senator opens second Dippin' Dots Store, makes plans for third.
Wisconsin State Senator, Dan Kapanke, is stretching his business knowledge beyond the Senate floor.
Kapanke is celebrating the opening of his second Dippin' Dots location this Saturday, Aug. 26.
The new store is located in Oakwood Mall in Eau Claire. Grand opening activities will include contests, prizes and free samples of Dippin' Dots products. The Eau Claire store, located between the food court and the kids play area, offers more than a dozen flavours of Dippin' Dots(R) ice cream, sherbet, yogurt and ice.
Last year Kapanke opened his first Dippin' Dots location in Valley View Mall in LaCrosse. He's now making plans for a third location in Apache Mall in Rochester. "I love a challenge," Kapanke said. "Not only do we want to be the destination for Dippin' Dots, we want to be a signature franchise for the company."
In addition to operating two Dippin' Dots stores, Kapanke owns the LaCrosse Loggers baseball team, where Dippin' Dots are also sold. Dippin' Dots(R) are tiny, cryogenically frozen beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavoured ice. Invented in 1988 by microbiologist and entrepreneur Curt Jones, Dippin' Dots(R) offers more than 20 different flavours, plus seasonal flavours.
The company's administrative and production headquarters are located in Paducah, Kentucky. Dippin' Dots(R) are sold in more than 250 retail locations and thousands of entertainment venues and special events nationwide. The company's Global division oversees licensees in nine countries.
